The History of CFBC

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see

the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25

Our Timeline

Floyd Johnson, graduate of the Los Angeles Bible Training School (LABTS), was called to minister to the saints of Graham Baptist Church at 87th and Grape St. The church was committed to giving their facility to the LABTS and once complete became Los Angeles Bible.

On the other side of town,  Lee Morgan, graduate of LABTS, started Community Bible Church (CBC) with the help of the IFCA.

Two Master’s Seminary classmates sought opportunities to serve God in the city. Carl Hargrove, with the support of Grace Community Church, started a church plant called Westside Bible Church.

Around the same time, Bobby Scott was led to CBC to continue the ministry began by Lee Morgan.

God brought sister churches CBC and LABC together to form LACBC.

God called Anthony Kidd to assume the Pastor-teacher role for WBC.

On Dec. 11th, WBC and LACBC agreed to come together as Community of Faith Bible Church. Within days, God led Pastor Mel Moore of Trinity Bible Church to contact Pastor Scott, and he graciously encouraged CFBC to consider worshiping at their facility.

Trinity Bible Church gifted 12025 Industrial Ave., South Gate, CA to CFBC which is where we currently worship.
